More Shopping Deals (6-13-2008)

After dinner Friday night we packed the boys up and went to CVS for some shopping. I had a game plan and a slew of coupons. When we arrived they did not have some of the cereal that we had planned on buying. We toyed with some options and eventually figured out ones that we all like and will use. The boys wandered around with me and JL held the coupons as I planned my attack. I had thought about buying the Dove face SkinVitalizer. It was on sale for $9.99 and I had a $3.50 coupon, the $3/15 CVS coupon,  plus it qualified for the $10 Dove purchase for $3 ECBs. It would have been a great deal, but the refills are quite pricey and it may bother my really sensitive skin, so I opted to pass on the deal.

I also wanted to try the new Dove Frizz Control shampoo and conditioner. They were BOGO this week, plus I had $2/1 coupons to use! That made them 50 cents each! Worth a shot at that price. Everything else were fillers that we needed or had coupons for and would use to get to the $15 to use the $3/15 CVS coupons.

Last Days of Nursery School

This morning was rough. NHL was quite upset that today is the last day of nursery school for many of the kids. He has another two weeks left because his PT/OT services continue on during that time. Right before leaving the house he told me he did not want to go. Then he mentioned that he wants to go and visit the new kindergarten school and does not want to leave his current school. While it is wonderful to know how much he loves where he is right now, I cringe thinking about what may happen in the fall.

For now I am going to remember the amazing year we had once we switched to the location he is at now instead of worrying . . . too much at least. I will make sure that NHL remembers the amazing teachers, the fabulous Jewish holiday celebrations (nice bonus for us), the swim lessons, and all of the fun projects that he made.

These are some of the art work by the kids that were displayed on the walls recently:

Last week NHL’s class had their end of the year party. All of the parents were invited to have lunch with the class to celebrate and watch the kids get awards. The teachers did a wonderful job presenting the nursery school diplomas to make the kids excited. In addition they each received an amazing bag of goodies.

 What a happy boy!

And last but not least some photos from the end of the year music concert that was on June 4.

I truly hope that NHL can remember the fun times that he had this year at nursery school. We had our doubts after the nightmarish start at what I am not calling "The EVIL school," but thanks to his therapists at the time we had an amazing year. Here’s to hoping next year gets off to a nice start.

A HOT HOT summer ahead

It technically is not summer yet, but you would not know that looking at the scorching temperatures up and down the eastcoast of the US. We are in the middle of a hot, humid and nasty heat wave. Yes, the temperature here is 94+ today (heat index of over 100) and this is the third day of 90+ degree heat. I do not know what we would do if we did not have our window AC units. They have done a decent job getting the humidity out of the main living section of our house. The upstairs room needs the AC unit put in still and is beyond sauna state.

In just a few short days NHL will be done with nursery school and getting ready to head to kindergarten this fall (still in denial about that). I have started to gather ideas and things to do with the boys that are inexpensive and do not involve much driving since gas is well over $4.00 a gallon here.

To help give ideas of things to do this summer 5 Minutes for Mom has a great new set of giveaways going on. They are running a Creative Summer Days giveaway chock full of ideas from June 10-18. Head on over and check it out.

After Monday’s visit to CVS there were a few items I was thinking about purchasing. Yesterday I decided it was well worth the trip there with all of the coupons that I had. So after NHL’s nursery school party and swim lesson the two boys and I went to CVS hunting for certain items.

This is everything that I bought:
