Afikomen fun time

Dear NHL and JSL,

Thank you both for being sources of joy and entertainment during the Passover Seders on Wednesday and Thursday night. It made Daddy and me smile seeing both of you enjoying yourselves with Nana, Papa and Aunt T. Of course, you were both extra busy with all of the special items that Aunt S and Uncle M sent for you to have during the Seder (photos of those coming later).

JSL, you wanted to do everything that your big brother was doing. If he closed his eyes while Daddy was hiding the Afikomen, you did the same thing (albeit while looking out the cracks in your fingers). You gobbled up gefilte fish and were not too interested in anything else until the goodies came out after dinner.

NHL you helped to read from the Haggadah and even sang part of the four questions in Hebrew. You were brave and tried the bitter herbs and kept trying to figure out when it was time to taste more of the traditional items from the Seder plate.

Nana makes sure NHL does not look Trying to sneak a look

I love you both with all of my heart,

Mommy

Grilling Goodness – Take 12

GoldenGoodness

1. What’s one of the best things you’ve seen lately? – Today JSL was so happy that he was walking around the house singing "happy, happy, happy"  He loves having all of us home with him. Rude awakening in a week when big brother goes back to school.

2. Has Spring brought you something you don’t like? – Not a fan of insects. The dirt bees are outside and not looking forward to more flying, creeping bugs.

3. What kind of sandwiches do you like? – Very into hummus sandwiches on Arnold’s sandwich things with some Fiber One cereal on top. Don’t judge, it is filling, delicious and healthy for me.

4. Do you carry GermX with you at all times? – No, I honestly think that there are too many antibacterial products on the market. Part of our problem these days is we kill off the normal flora that need to be on us to make us healthy.

5. Does each person in your house have their own hamper or do you have a central hamper for everyone? – We have two hampers – one for the kids and one for us.

6. How often do you balance your checkbook? – Used to be really good with this. I watch the statements carefully, but thanks to having kids I have not been good in about six years now of the paper balancing.

7. What’s the hardest thing you’ve done lately? –  Transforming our kitchen for Passover and making two Seders. It was a challenge with everything else going on. My mind needs to shift soon to making lists of things to do for Disney World.

8. Are you a texter? – No, we do not have a plan with unlimited texting. Hubby and I use Twitter during the day when at home/work. I have done a text or two from time to time. I told people I was in labor via text almost two years ago.

Head over to Golden Goodness to play along!

Chuck E Cheese memories

Growing up I can recall going to Chuck E Cheese. We did not go there a lot, but when we did it was a fabulous treat. I loved playing all of the different video games, going on rides, watching shows and earning prizes. Of course, my little brother did not like it at first. He was quite afraid of Chuck E Cheese and would hide under the table.

Chuck E Cheese

NHL does not like Chuck E Cheese. We think it has something to do with the costumed rodent. He does not like costumes, which will make Disney World interesting in a few weeks. Thanks to NHL we have not been to Chuck E Cheese in a while. Last Thursday my mother had the day off from work and I mentioned that I had a lot of tokens left from our last visit. She and I went to Chuck E Cheese with JSL.

This was really the first time he had been there since he would romp around and try things. At 23 months old he was a little overwhelmed with all of the items, but thanks to no crowds quickly got used to everything. Eventually he tried a few rides, loves the car driving game and played many games of Skee Ball with me. Here are some photos from our trip.

First real trip to Chuck E Cheese for the Little Guy

So my question to you this week, assuming you have been to Chuck E Cheese in the past and recently:

What do you think of the new look at Chuck E Cheese? Do you prefer the old style or the new?  If you have never been, what is your favorite arcade game?
