OB Visit Today

Today I went to the OB for my 6 week check (although it will technically be 6 weeks Monday). I am 10 pounds under my pre-pregnancy weight on their scale. That means I lost about 25 pounds in that time. Now I need to watch my snacking since I am constantly hungry while nursing. This is when I gained weight when I had NHL.

I told the nurse that I am STILL bleeding she told me that they may not be able to do the Pap Smear. Then they asked me if I would see another doctor since the one I had an appointment with was running very late. I eventually told them fine. So I handed JSL over to one of the girls to watch while I had my exam. I went into the room. He did my breast exam and said JSL is doing a great job since there were no clogs or anything. Then it was time to get the feet into the stirrups and have the exam.

So I’m there and I hear the doctor mutter “Hmmm. . . now that shouldn’t be there, I’m going to have to remove it” WTF?! Not exactly the thing you want to hear when someone is looking at your va-jay-jay. So I asked him to clarify his comment. He tells me there’s a piece of membranous tissue there and he thinks it’s part of the placenta. WHOA! So he take it out and says he’s sending it to get checked. Then I have to have an ultrasound to make sure no other tissue is there. I guess I’m lucky that I haven’t been sick with this still there, but I was on antibiotic for a lot of the time thanks to the fun thigh infection.

GRRRRR! I am ticked since I complained 4 days after giving birth about a monster clot and they down played it (plum size – this was cherry size today — I like fruit it’s the summer). The OB that delivered JSL said the placenta was intact and there was no concern, even though it was a double lobed placenta. Now I’m really wondering. IF the ultrasound on Monday isn’t clean then I will likely need a D&C – I think.

Well, I am off to see if I can get my hair done today with my mother. My plan is to do my 3rd donation in 4 years to Locks of Love. If I can’t today then I will do it soon before I start the post partum shedding.

C’est Moi
