Psycho Clown – *shivers*

While cleaning out the 3rd bedroom the other day JL decided to take some photos of the notorious clown painting. This is a painting that used to absolutely freak me out when I went to visit JL when we were dating. The clown’s eyes follow you. Why you may ask do we keep the creepy painting? Well, the painting was made by JL’s grandpa and NHL is named for him. Here’s a sneak peak of why the painting is not allowed up in the house. It seriously could cause a child to fear clowns:  Remember the photo does not do this painting justice – it is MUCH worse in person.

Today’s baby shower

Today I made it to work and stayed the entire day without any troubles. Afterward there was a gathering at one of my co-workers houses. The “surprise” was revealed the week before break when they finally gave the two of us that are pregnant our invitations to our baby shower. I never had a baby shower with NHL. Since I wasn’t working full time there were no co-workers to do anything and my family is totally against them (Jewish superstitions). Instead we had everyone come to celebrate NHL’s arrival at his bris.

It was a lot of fun seeing almost everyone from school. Since it’s hard for me to waddle down all over the building I hardly ever see the preschool and elementary teachers. So it was a nice chance to see them since my days are definitely numbered at school. One of my co-workers made a great diaper tower/cake (see photo below) and another special person at school made the amazing cake (also below). In addition to this I received a great gift card for Target that will come in very handy.

Here’s the cake that was made. The booties actually show where there were different cakes hiding underneath. It was yellow, white and chocolate.

Deal or No Deal?!

Well it was bound to happen. NHL decided Sunday morning that he wanted to change his baby’s name. He still wants Harry, but not for the first name. Since he’s totally ga-ga for Howie Mandel he has named the doll Howie Harry. . . for now at least.

Here’s NHL and Howie sleeping the first night he had him:

Last night we also told NHL that he will likely be sharing his room with the baby. This did not go over well. He must have thought he had some say in this, but he doesn’t. After much screaming and yelling, JL finally got him to see how much of a helper he will be if the baby is in his room. The only good thing is we NEVER called the spare bedroom the baby’s room, it’s always been called the 3rd bedroom.

The plan, we think, is to have NHL’s bed and the baby’s crib in the one room. Then the 3rd bedroom will house the changing table and dressers for the boys. JL and I are more comfortable with this seeing we weren’t thrilled with the baby in the back of the house so far from us. We can’t figure out how to put the Pack n’ Play in our room like we did in the apartment when NHL was first born, so this just may work. We just can’t see spending money on a small bassinet that may fit in our tiny room that already has no floor/walking space.

I’s 3rd B-day a la Cars!

Yesterday after nap time and the Sibling Class we went to L & D’s house for I’s 3rd Birthday party. NHL was beyond thrilled since he has desperately wanted to see I. They were both spoiled in the seeing each other department after February break.

So we packed ourselves up and went to their house for play time, dinner, and of course yummy cake. The boys (JL included) had a great time playing while L and I got to chit chat while getting dinner ready. As you will see below there are photos of the three boys playing inside and outside. It was really nice getting to see L’s dad up and about too. We were all too worried about him during February break.

As you will see for his birthday, I. got a soccer goal from his grandparents. JL immediately got to putting it together so we could take the two little guys outside to let out some steam. It was great watching them, along with JL and L’s mother outside playing. Too bad I put my camera away too early and didn’t get one of Nana playing with I.

Below are some photos from yesterday and L & D – thanks again for a great evening!

NHL & I. attack JL – this time it was I’s turn:

Now it’s NHL’s turn to fly:

Winter Coat + Spring = Cold Day at the Park

Last weekend (April 7th)the sun actually came out for a little while and it wasn’t quite as cold as it has been lately. Thanks to this JL and I took NHL to the park. BRRRRR! It was pretty chilly, as you can tell from NHL’s cheeks just from a short time. Here are some photos and a video that I took. I have some other cool videos too (not from the park), but I can’t upload them since they are too big. JL is going to help me later to put them on our own website so I can still use them here.
