NHL Funny!

Tuesday night we decided it was time to tackle NHL to cut his toe nails. Note to all – this is a huge production number that typically requires two adults to hold flailing limbs in order to accomplish the task.

So I did NHL’s fingers first and he was great. Then it was time to go for the feet. So I told him it was time to do the toes. He looked me straight in the face and said the following:

“No Mommy, I don’t want to. We can wait until Passover!”

I nearly died laughing! –>

Anyway, I called JL in to hear what he said and to assist me on the more difficult task at hand. He started to flip out. We tried to tell him he was a big boy, but that only worked so much. Then JL and I opted to slightly bribe him for better than usual behavior. That worked for one foot, but the second was a lot worse. He did count to 30 and we promised to try to be done by then (thank goodness he isn’t that quick counting yet).

Later on JL explained where the Passover thing came from. Apparently the other day NHL saw some of our Passover things that were put away for a few more weeks. NHL wanted one of the goodies and JL explained that he had to wait until Passover. LOL – Goes to show he applied what he heard to a different scenario!

Uncle I, Aunt M, and Wedgie Fest Weekend

This week went by so quickly that I never had time to update and post photos from last weekend. Last weekend my brother and sister-in-law came into town to visit. They claim it was to see everyone, but we all know it was mostly to see and play with NHL. He absolutely adores his Uncle I and Aunt M. This was probably the last time we will see them before the new little one arrives in May and then until their new arrival comes into the world in September. There’s a major baby boom going on in the family, can you tell?!?!

We had a great time visiting with everyone and spending the weekend with lots of the family. Saturday night we met up with my grandmother, Aunt S, and Uncle M for dinner at Nothing But Noodles. YUMMY!

On Sunday we went to my parents house to have breakfast with Nana, Papa, Uncle I, and Aunt M. After that Uncle I and NHL played with the trains together and Papa taught NHL the fine art of wedgie making. It’s sad to say the little weirdo actually liked it and to this day will request a wedgie. I don’t think he’s been getting them quite right.

Here are a few photos from the weekend.

It’s time to head out and say goodbye to everyone.

That’s all for now. I will update later with things from this weekend including a visit from JL’s parents.

Melon Butt!

To quote almost 3 1/2 year old NHL, “Melon butt? Melon butt? Melon butt! Melon butt!…..”

Why you ask? It’s all my fault. Silly mommy went to get more kandoo wipes. As I brought them into the bathroom I noticed I could smell the fruity scent from the package and uttered the now famous NHL words. As I tossed the package to JL I yelled, “Here’s the melon butt for you!”

LMAO – Who needs a parrot when you have your own genuine toddler?!?!
