My question for this week:

What is your favorite family vacation destination?

I admit it, vacation is on my brain. Can you blame me? The temperature outside a frigid 10 degrees, with a windchill of -2, so mind is fixed on May. Tuesday we officially booked our first family vacation with the kiddos to Disney World in May. Hubby and I have not gone on a major getaway since December 2002, before I knew I was pregnant with NHL. The deals to Walt Disney World right now made it pretty hard to say no. We are probably spending less going there for a week (including airfare, food, tickets, and hotel) than we would if we went to BlogHer. Pretty amazing if you ask me.

Of course the answer to my question would be Walt Disney World in Florida. Yes, I have been to Disneyland in California, but to me it will never be the same. As a child I went to Disney World so many times that when I asked my parents last night for years and where we stayed they blanked. Seriously, they could not recall all of the years and information. I can recall at least six times, plus my honeymoon. They claim I have been many more times.

I promise, I will not be obsessed with Disney on my blog. Right now I am just SO excited to have something fun to look forward to! Here we were showing our honeymoon memory book to the boys on New Year’s Eve.

We try to take many small weekend trips and in general, our family just loves being on the road!

However, Disney in Florida is a favorite of ours as well!

We are making long term plans to spend Christmas 2011 in one of their Cabins! It should be the perfect age for all our little ones combined.

    Happy 2009!

  • Cathi says:

My husband and I love to travel and quite often we’re lucky enough to travel with our kids and grandbabies. We has a great time a few years back when we all went to Orlando and stayed at the Hotel Nick and visited Universal Studios.

  • Tena says:

we love going to Disneyland, although it’s not much of a vacation since we go at least once a week. I love Maui and New York, another good one is San Fran, or San Diego

  • Em Dy says:

I’ve been to Hawaii twice but can’t get enough of it. Same with Disneyland.

  • Lori Downs says:

Anywhere there is a beach and that we do not have to fly, we fell in love with crusing to those ports and will never fly again

  • Heather Neff says:

California is our fav place to Vacation… the beach, they bay, the bridge, the family… it’s the best :) Lots of scrapbooks for California!

  • Dee says:

We have a condo at the beach so we go there ALL the time!

  • meredith says:

Anywhere in the mountains of NC. Or just anywhere in the Blue Ridge Mountains rather. I’m not really a beach kind of gal, so I will take a trip to the mountains anytime.

  • Nina says:

Disney sounds really nice, I have only been once.
We tend to go to Michigan every year to a cabin our family has. It is fun but not my ideal vacation. I like going to the warmer climates myself. My oldest son loves our trips to Michigan.

  • We haven’t taken a ton of family vacations as MM is only 2, but our favorite so far would probably be the White Mountains in NH – Santas Village, Story Land and beautiful scenery.

  • Janet F says:

I would have to say Disney in Florida, even though I have never been there.

  • I would love to take my son to Disneyland or Disney World someday.

We love going to the beach during vacations. I love going to the island of Boracay (Philippines).

  • sagemom says:

We’ve only taken one “family” trip and that was to the LA Zoo and the Aquarium of the Pacific in S. Cal…but I’d love to take the family to Disney one day!

  • Jennifer says:

Driving to TN to see our friends.

  • Christina says:

Enjoy your time at Disney! Your family is going to have lots of fun. Our last family trip was in 2006. Say hi to Mickey!

  • Renee says:

our favorite has to be where ever they’re doing great discounts for Soldiers. We’ve gotten to do some really great things Sea World/Busch Gardens has to be one of the greatest supporters of Soldiers though.

  • Spain, Israel or the Caribbean (though I have not been at the last one).

Hope you have a great time at Disney. Say ‘hi’ to Goofy (we are first cousins :)

  • Elizabeth says:

I totally agree with you. It’s Walt Disney World for sure! It’s the magic, I can’t get enough.

  • Pegsy says:

We usually go to somewhere in BC (British Columbia), because we can get there in one day! (Well, usually 2 because we make LOTS of stops!) Hubby is not such a fan of driving! There are lots of lakes and beaches and hot temperatures. Summer in Alberta is fairly cool, so like to have at least one week where it’s truly hot!

  • Disney all the way!!! We went over the summer and had a fabulous time!

  • kailani says:

Definitely Disneyland. We try to visit at least once a year.

I haven’t had a vacation since I was a teen, so pretty much anywhere would be ok with me

  • Heatherlyn says:

This is a fun one to answer because I really enjoy vacations. I love to see anything new and interesting, but I especially enjoy vacationing at places with light blue warm water! I prefer soft sand. And yummy food. That’s my favorite.
