Swaparooni arrived at CityStream’s today!!!

Last week I sent out my Swaparooni package to C (aka CityStreams) and she got it today. Since she read my blog I wasn’t able to post about all of the stuff before. Here’s a photo of all of the things that were included in my package:

Included were:
– Infantino baby toy. JSL helped me to pick this out. We had bought him one similar to it and he loved it. C is expecting her first, a baby girl in September.

– A bath poof in blue to pamper herself with. Enjoy longer showers now before the baby gets here C!

– A 10 color pen for correcting. These were my favorite when I was in school and I had one when I was student teaching as well. Red ink just gets boring after a while.

– Earrings from an artist on Etsy. Here’s a close up

They were from Candy’s ArtDesigns. Her store can be located at: http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=5070992

– A blue and brown folder. C said she may use it for her long term maternity leave substitute plans ;)

– M&M Note cards. I know she didn’t like logos, but this was a chocolate note card and she likes chocolate. NHL wouldn’t let me put them back when I found them. In fact he made me get him a Blue M&M note pad.

– 4 things of Blue and Brown ribbon. Again NHL was with me when I went hunting for these. He was too funny screaming in stores when he found something that was blue or brown. I can’t wait to hear what C does with these.

– Chocolates for C. I went and looked for chocolate that had brown and blue packaging. I was able to find Snickers, Hershey bars and Sno-Caps. Little did I know that Sno-Caps were C’s favorite!

– Last but not least something for C’s hubby. He likes Dove milk chocolate. These were perfect since the packaging is blue and brown!

Phew! I’m just glad it arrived and got there in one piece.

Weekend updates and photos

The weekends just seem to fly by. Friday night we were going to head out to dinner for JL’s birthday. Unfortunately, the weather nixed those plans. We stayed home and went to the Chinese take out place and brought things home. At night I let JL watch things on the DVR that were waiting for him while I worked on things for my online courses.

Yesterday was filled with errands. In the morning we went to the ATM, library, to get gas (where we saw my parents), BJ’s, Target, and the grocery store. We also took NHL to the playground of his new school to play for a little while. No camera was present, so no photos :(

Recently NHL has been waking up a lot at night. We think his nightmares are directly related to events from the chin incident and fear of the unknown in his future. He’s very upset about leaving the daycare center/nursery school that he has been at for 3 years now. He likes the idea of the new school, but change is hard, especially for an almost 4 year old. Last night he was up at least 2 times. Once JL had to go in and settle him down after a trip to the bathroom. Amazingly JSL slept through all of this.

NHL woke up this morning and JSL was starting to fuss. He wasn’t awake so we left him. About 15 minutes later I went to look since I didn’t hear him. Here’s a photos of what I found (remember he’s a tummy sleeper):

He was just doing baby exercises and when we went in there he was “chatting” up a storm. The cutest part is when we said Hi JSL and he responded back with a sweet little “Hi” very clearly. Remember he won’t be 3 months old until next Monday.

Here’s a photo of NHL on the floor of the “Boys room” playing:

We did the breakfast thing, JL made cookies for a birthday gift and NHL got ready to head out with Nana and Papa. I managed to get both of the boys dressed. JSL is in a new outfit that he got. It’s a 3-6 month size that I thought would be huge since 0-3 still fit him. Boy was I wrong. NHL really approved of it since it has dinosaurs. Here are a few shots of my two little boys.

JSL with bib and NHL with a goofy grin:

JSL without bib and NHL being a weirdo:

JSL with the hat that goes with the outfit (kinda large don’t ya think?):

And last but not least a photo of all 3 of my boys including the 30-something one:

Now JSL is sleeping, NHL is out with Nana and Papa, and JL is using his new electric hedge trimmer to reclaim the area outside our house. Those darn trees and things grow too darn fast.

I am going to try to get some of my computer things done while everyone is doing something else.

Rolling down the bed hills!

The subject is yet another song that JL and I made up last night. You sing it to the tune of “Rolling Down the Sand hills” by The Wiggles. It was in reference to NHL rolling all over his bed at night lately. Here is proof that he is doing it. These photos were taken within a 2-3 hour span of time.

Here’s the first capture. JL went in there since I heard him hit the wall. We had never seen this new spot before. Comfy – NOT!

Later on I found him down a little in a slightly more comfortable pose:

He seemed to want to adapt to “Rolling up the bed hill” for this one:

You just never know where you will find NHL lately. Mind you his little brother is doing similar tricks already in his Pack N’ Play.

And the kicker this morning he let us know he was awake by squeaking his buddy that makes noise so we could check on him.

New song & Invention needed

Last night I made up a song and was singing it to a very happy JSL. He kept smiling, laughing and “singing” along with me. JL came up and was just looking at me. Why you ask? Well here’s my song. You sing it to the tune of “Smelly Cat” from the show Friends.

“Sweaty butt, sweaty butt. . . Mommy has a sweaty butt!”

Now you may wonder, what is the inspiration of my wonderful tune? My sweaty rear end of course! Seriously, sitting on a hot couch, nursing a hot baby with a heavy/hot Boppy on me in an 80+ degree living room (fans and an AC unit in the adjoining room only do so much) is making my caboose HOT and sweaty. Do you see a theme here?

So here’s my question. Are there couch AC units and if not then I want to invent one.

More Accomplished

Well my “To Do” that I have made is getting smaller and smaller by the day. I have managed to get it down to things that I am avoiding or aren’t easy to do while home with an almost 3 month old baby.

Like Tuesday, the last two days have been busy getting things done. Here are the things that I can remember now (the heat must be getting to me)

Wednesday:
– Packaged up my hair donation for Locks of Love, Swaparooni packed and ready and took those along with Flex Spending envelope and J’s B-day gift out to the post office. Also bought stamps while there so I could use them to send out invitations to NHL’s birthday party later in the month.

– Wrote out all of the Curious George 4th birthday invitations. Addressed most of them and had them set for JL to send out on Thursday.

– Went to the library to get items that were on hold for me. Lots of cupcake books to look and see what to try for NHL’s birthday at school.

-Finished the 2nd batch of Flex Spending paper work (that reminds me JL needs to copy those so I can send those out now too).

Thursday:
– Since it was going to be in the 90’s and beyond hot and humid I opted to quickly bake the cupcake cones in the morning and frost later on at night. These were done to test run for NHL’s school party.

– Talked with one of NHL’s teachers about some behaviors that she had noted when seeing him. Left a message for one of this other “teachers” about it. Also called daycare to talk w/assistant director about some of the items the one teacher noted how this was NEVER communicated to us by the teachers in the room with NHL every day. GRRRRR!
– Did a load of laundry (have another one in now – *sigh*)

– Stayed inside and worried about JSL since he was so blah and seems like he’s losing weight. Tried to make sure we were both as cool as possible and hydrated.

Today:
– Need to figure out where we are going for JL’s birthday dinner tonight.

– Load of laundry in now. An attempt not to have much, if any to do this weekend. A girl can dream can’t she?!

– When JSL naps must get things done for computer classes. . . especially the Free Resource one that hasn’t been done at all. After that I can work on the Digital Photography one, Word one, and Wiki one. I have to get ahead since next weekend I will be out at the baby shower for my SIL.

Weekend:
– Need to bake for B-day gift on Sunday

– Must go to Moe’s to use JL’s free burrito coupon and NHL is free there on Sunday.

–  Need to find a bag to put the baby shower gift in. Easier said than done apparently.

– Must start a list of things for trip. More complicated since there is so much to pack for JSL.

– Try to get JSL’s crib set up. Need to locate the bumpers.

– Work on cleaning and getting rid of more clutter.

On that note I am off to play/read to the little guy before he wants to nurse or sleep.
