Wait for me big brother

Friday evening JSL was on the ground and NHL decided to entertain his little brother.

Please note that JSL started off on the blanket like so

 Baby on the move

NHL then decided to take out his toy burger (not kosher since there’s cheese on it – *tsk* *tsk* *tsk*) and as you will see JSL scooted over to see what was going on. Please note the excitement on the little guy as he nears his goal.

NHL was shocked that JSL came to him

A little further still and then the burger is just a face plant away. Who knew a burger was so interesting?

 JSL goes after NHL's burger

Mommy quickly pulled JSL back onto the blanket (I know mean, but needed). So this time NHL decides to put dinosaurs on parade for JSL to come after. Here’s NHL setting things up.

Dino parade

And here’s when they are all set and JSL is just starting to come after them.

JSL come get my dinosaurs

We are doomed if he’s already moving like this and only 4 months old. ACK!

Said during Yom Kippur

This evening we all went back to shul for Nelia services. JSL started to get antsy, so he and I left JL and NHL inside. After chewing on my fingers (teething monster) he fell asleep quickly while having some milk that I pumped before we left the house

A while later JL emerged with sleeping NHL in his arms. He had to tell me what NHL had done.

JL picked up NHL to see the Torahs while the Ark was open. After lifting him up NHL said the following in a clear, normal volume (which is like screaming since temple is SO quiet):

"Daddy, that hurts my penis!"

JL’s reply – he shhhhhhh’d the kid!

You have to love how kids will say the things you never want to hear in certain locations.

*Achoo* . . . something we could use!

As I sit here typing with a cold that just won’t die I was surfing some websites that I usually go to. One of them is giving away something quite nice – and helpful to rid my house of the mighty dust bunnies/mites.

5 Minutes for Mom is giving away a pink Dyson. Anyone may enter to win it, just go here and sign up! I would love to have a Dyson since my hand-me-down vacuum is horrible. This one of a kind pink Dyson is a limited edition where $40 of each sale goes to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. They are sold exclusively at Target.

Even if you are not a fan of pink, Dyson is amazing and the cause is wonderful.

*sniffle* *snort* *snot* – It’s officially September

UGH!   I feel like complete and total crud.

At first I thought it may be allergies, then I thought just sinuses bothering me. . . . now I know it’s my September sickness setting in.

Really, every year between Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur I end up sick. Typically I can blame it on the stress of a new school year (teaching) and the kids, but not this time. I have a feeling I caught something at the bowling party since a bunch of the kids have been out. It started with a headache, sore throat, head pressure, congestion, runny nose – and then full blown body aches and *sniffle, snort, snoting* – YUCK!

My motto – "Help me I dare you!"

I have called the doctors office asking what I can take since I’m nursing JSL. They called back and suggested something for a chest cold. After I figured this out (with the help of my handy dandy pharmacist brother), I called them back to clarify it’s a head cold (not in my chest YET), and my sinuses are killing me. So now I sit and wait to hear what I can do, if anything. I did take ibuprofen to help with the aches and pain and low grade fever. Now I just hope I am the only one with this. . . and I worry about JSL the most since he’s only 4 months old.

Off to find more tissues.

Weekend update and photos of my boys (9-16-07)

Sunday NHL had a birthday party to head to. So most of the morning was spent wrapping the gift, making a card, getting all of us ready . . . . fun stuff. While the rest of us were running around the house like crazy the little guy was napping. Here’s how I found him when he woke up. Apparently he has made up a new version of Peek-a-boo!

This was what I first saw

I have his attention so he peeks out (probably scared to see the "flashy thing" in my hands)

"Flashy thing" goes off and this is his reaction

Mommy decides to hunt down JSL behind the bumper. Here’s what I found.

He stays hidden a little longer and finally comes back out.

Next it was time to get everyone ready to head outside. Since it was cooler both boys needed a jacket or sweater on. Here’s NHL and JSL. This is the first time JSL has put on a sweater. Notice how fascinated JSL is with his big brother.

NHL seemed to have a really nice time at his friend’s bowling party. I think 14 of the 20 kids were there. We were able to meet a lot of the parents of the children and talk with a lot of them. To our surprise Miss L actually came to the party and was cheering the kids on and talking with all of them and us as well.

This was not NHL’s first time bowling, but the first time that JL and  I saw him. Here are some photos from the party.

The first ball that we see him bowl.

Ever so slowly the ball moves down the alley.

On another turn up with a different ball we capture just how interested 4 and 5 year olds are with what happens once they release the ball.

Several parents wondered if we EVER feed NHL. Apparently he really enjoyed bowling alley pizza. It was nice to prove to Miss L that Noah can eat!

So that about sums up most of our day. The only other event of the day was when JL sprayed the wasp nest . . . sorry no photo of that.
